Amritsar, July 5 – The Panj Pyares of Takht Sri Patna Sahib have declared Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal a salaried person during a meeting today. It has been alleged against him that he was given an opportunity to appear thrice to give an explanation, but he did not appear before the Takht.
The meeting of the Panj Pyares at Takht Sri Patna Sahib today was attended by Takht Jathedar and Head Granthi Bhai Baldev Singh, Additional Head Granthi Bhai Giani Dalip Singh and Bhai Gurdial Singh, Senior Meet Granthi Bhai Parshuram Singh and Meet Granthi Bhai Amarjit Singh.
Giving information about the decision taken during the meeting, the Panj Pyares said that on May 21, under a decision taken by the acting Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargajj at Sri Akal Takht and the Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, Giani Tek Singh, the dignity, constitution and bye-laws of Takht Sri Patna Sahib were challenged. This was an interference in the rights and powers of the Takht Sri Patna Sahib Management Committee.
They said that this decision was motivated by political interests and they had received information that Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal was involved as a conspirator behind this entire incident. He was called to give an explanation in this regard. He was given an opportunity to appear twice and give an explanation but he did not appear.
On the appeal of SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, he was given another 20 days for the last time. But he has not appeared for the third time either.
He said that this proves that Sukhbir Singh Badal was involved in the entire incident. He said that Sukhbir Singh Badal has been declared a salaryman, considering him guilty of ignoring the order given by the Panj Pyares of Takht Sri Patna Sahib. It is worth mentioning that in this case, the Panj Pyares of Takht Sri Patna Sahib have also declared the acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargajj and the Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib Giani Tek Singh as salarymen.
