Una, January 11 - Red Cross Society is always ready to help the needy. District Red Cross Society is doing excellent work. This information was given by Deputy Commissioner Raghav Sharma while presiding over the Red Cross Society on Thursday. He said that District Red Cross Society Una has registered 398 disabled persons of the district through Alimco Company and after evaluation of 269 eligible disabled persons, has provided 355 equipment worth Rs 28 lakh 42 thousand 242 free of cost.
During this, the Deputy Commissioner said that 213 eligible disabled persons have been registered for free training by the representatives of the National Career Centre. Apart from this, Raghav Sharma said that on the occasion of District level Republic Day, a referral draw will also be conducted by the District Red Cross in which 63 types of prizes will be kept in which the first winner of the referral draw will be given an electric scooter or Rs. 70 thousand. Two draws will be held for the second place in which a steel cupboard will be given and 10 draws will be held for the third place in which a mixer grinder will be given. He informed that all these referral draws will be conducted by the chief guest Agriculture Minister Chandra Kumar during the district level Republic Day celebrations.
On this occasion, AC Varinder Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Excise and Taxation Vinod Singh Dogra, DPO ICDS Narendra Kumar, Deputy Director Agriculture Kulbhushan Dhiman, RTO Ashok Kumar, DFSC Rajiv Sharma, BDO Una KL Verma, BDO Mukesh Kumar, BDO Amb Om Pal Dogra, BDO Bangana Surendra Kumar, Exin PWD Baldev Singh and others were present.
