Patiala, January 6 – Matches on the first day of the 67th National School Games 2023-24 Basketball Boys Under-19 competition were played on two basketball courts at Government Multipurpose Senior Secondary School High Branch Punjabi Bagh. The first league match was played between the teams of Punjab and Gujarat
  The chief guest was Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh. In this, the Punjab team won the league match by defeating Gujarat with a margin of 95-27 points. Sports Coordinator Patiala Daljit Singh said that apart from this, in the other league matches, in the match between IBSO and DAV, IBSO won the match with 69-16 points.
Jharkhand defeated Kerala by 55-52 points in a very exciting match. In the match between Andhra Pradesh and CISCE, CISCE defeated Andhra Pradesh by 77-42 points. Telangana defeated IPSC by 77-45 points. Chandigarh defeated Himachal Pradesh by 64-54 points.
