
Under PM Vishwakarma Yojana, artisans of 18 professions will get training and financial benefits - ADC
Una, December 21 - Under PM Vishwakarma Yojana, artisans of 18 professions will be provided training and after the training, they will be provided financial assistance as well as loans at subsidized interest rates for purchasing necessary machines, tools and equipment to start their business.

He told that at the beginning of the scheme, the heads of all the gram panchayats of the district will have to register on the portal related to the scheme. He said that in district Una, heads of 158 gram panchayats have got themselves registered, while 87 gram panchayat heads are yet to register themselves on the portal related to this scheme. He said that soon the registration of Panchayat heads will be ensured in the rest of the district and special efforts will be made to make the villagers aware about PM Vishwakarma Yojana in different areas.
Present in the meeting, AK Gautam, Assistant Director of IEDS, a subsidiary of the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, said that the Prime Minister of the country Narendra Modi announced this scheme on 15 August 2023, after which it was launched on 16 September 2023 on the occasion of Vishwakarma Day. |
Under the scheme, people related to various 18 professions will have free registration on the portal of the scheme through the nearest Lok Mitra Center or CSC, which will be verified at various levels including the concerned Panchayat Pradhan. After this, the person will be provided training for 5 to 7 days regarding the related business. During this period, they will also be provided a daily allowance of Rs 500. After training, these artisans will be provided financial assistance of Rs 15,000 to purchase the necessary machines, tools or equipment to start their business. Apart from this, for the expansion of the related business, each artisan will be provided a loan of Rs 1 to 2 lakh respectively by the government in an interval of 18 months, on which a subsidy of five percent will be provided at the normal interest rates.

The fee for registration in PM Vishwakarma Yojana is being borne by the government and the artisans will not have to pay any fee. He said that if any complaint is received from the person concerned by Lok Mitra Centers or CSC operators during the registration of artisans, strict action will be taken against them. He has urged the public representatives to make the common people as much aware as possible about the PM Vishwakarma Yojana.
