ADC cancels license of firm Gurukulam Institute

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, May 14, 2025: In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 6 (1) (e) of the Punjab Travel Professionals Regulation Act-2012, the Additional District Magistrate, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar has cancelled the license of firm Gurukulam Institute. According to the Additional District Magistrate, the firm Gurukulam Institute, behind DAV School, Ashiana Colony, near Gulmohar City, Madhopur, Derabassi, District Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, owner Mrs. Meenakshi, daughter of Mr. Shivendra Vaishnav, resident of House No. 990/8 Hanuman Mandir, Derabassi, District Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, was issued a license No. 359/IC, dated 15.11.2019, for the operation of Coaching Institute of IELTS. The validity of this license has expired on 14-11-2024.
As per the checking report of Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Derabassi in the above regard, the office was closed. Apart from this, a notice was issued to the licensee vide letter dated 11.08.2023 for not submitting monthly report, record of advertisement/seminar etc. and fire safety certificate but the report has not been received yet.
A notice was issued to the licensee vide letter dated 29.11.2024 for not sending the report regarding advertisements/seminars nor half-yearly report and for not applying for renewal of license. A Tamil report was sought from Tehsildar Derabassi but the licensee has not applied for renewal of license.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner informed that based on the above situation regarding the firm, due to the licensee not renewing the license as per the Act/Rules and Advisory, not submitting monthly reports, office being closed, not replying/giving clarification to the notice and not complying with the clauses of the license, the company/firm and the licensee have committed a violation under the provisions of Section 6(1)(e) of the Punjab Travel Professional Regulation Act-2012.
Therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred under the provisions of Section 6(1)(e) of the Punjab Travel Professional Regulation Act-2012, the license No. 359/IC dated 15.11.2019 issued to the firm Gurukulam Institute for the work of Coaching Institute of IELTS has been revoked/cancelled with immediate effect.
Apart from this, as per the Act/Rules, if in future any complaint etc. is received against the said company/firm/partnership or its licensees/directors/partners of the firm, then the said company/director/partner/licensee will be responsible in every respect for it and will also be responsible for compensating for it.
