S.A.S. Nagar, January 16- Mohali Police has succeeded in arresting the accused who stole Rs 10 lakh 50 thousand from the house of a senior officer residing in Sector 68 along with money. The arrested accused has been identified as Ankit, a resident of Sector 49, Chandigarh.
Giving information in this regard, DSP City 2 Harsimran Singh Bal said that a complaint was given to the police by Kushal Singhla (who is a senior officer) residing in house number 1243 in Sector 68 that Rs 10 lakh 50 thousand had been stolen from his house by someone on January 11.
He said that the police have registered a case under sections 305 (A) and 317 (2) of the BNS Act in this case; The said case was investigated through CCTV cameras installed nearby and phone call details. And the team led by Rupinder Singh, the head of Police Station Phase 8, arrested the accused after identifying him. DSP Bal further said that after questioning the said accused, Rs 10 lakh 50 thousand stolen from the house of the said officer have also been recovered from him. He said that the accused Ankit was produced in the court, where the honorable court has sent him on 2-day police remand.
