SAS Nagar, September 8 - In the case of the collapse of the 4 to 5 feet diameter sewer line laid in the area of ??the new Phase 11, which was laid to solve the problem of blocked sewer pipes in Mohali in 2020, retired GMADA Ex-CEO Mr. NS Kalsi has demanded that a high-level investigation be conducted into the collapse of this pipeline in this way.
He said that during the laying of this pipeline, he had written to the Municipal Corporation officials to make regular drawings and make its bed so that this pipeline works better, but the corporation officials did not even pay attention to this.
He said that he had also complained to the then Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation about the poor quality pipes being laid here and had also had them inspected, but nothing happened and the pipeline was completed as it was.
He said that after the recent rains, this line has collapsed at many places and it is clear that at many places the joints connecting the two pipes were opened and the collars were broken, which caused the pipes to pull the soil from the side and the land to collapse. He demanded that a high-level investigation be conducted into this entire matter and strict action be taken against the contractor who laid the pipes and the responsible officials.
