Una, 7 August- Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania will be the chief guest at the district level Independence Day function to be held in Una on August 15. He will hoist the national flag in the premises of Government Senior Secondary School Una at 11 am and will address the people of the district after taking the salute of the parade. An attractive amalgamation of parade, tableaux and cultural presentations will be seen in the function.
Before this, the Assembly Speaker will pay tribute at the Shaheed Smarak located at MC Park.
Deputy Commissioner reviewed the preparations, assigned responsibilities to departments
Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal reviewed the preparations for the event and held a meeting of officials on Thursday. He assigned responsibilities to all the departments to ensure the success of the function and gave necessary guidelines.
In the function, NCC, NSS and students of various schools will participate in the parade along with the contingents of police and home guards. Apart from this, students and drama troupes of schools will present colorful cultural programs.
Tableaux of social concerns and schemes will be the center of attraction
The Deputy Commissioner said that tableaux based on social messages and public welfare schemes will also be presented in the function. These will include schemes related to Mukhyamantri Sukh Ashray Yojana, Indira Gandhi Sukh Shiksha Yojana, Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar Vidyarthi Loan Yojana, Rajiv Gandhi Government Adarsh Day Boarding School, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao Abhiyan, Catch the Rain, Agriculture and Horticulture Department and DRDA.
Excellent performers will be honored
During the function, officers and employees doing excellent work in various departments will be honored. Also, special awards will be given to those giving the best tableau, best stall and best cultural presentation.
Initiative to promote healthy lifestyle
With the aim of increasing public awareness towards healthy lifestyle, stalls of healthy dishes will be set up at the venue on the lines of Eat Right Mela. In these, participation of self-help groups along with government departments has also been ensured.
The Deputy Commissioner has called upon all the citizens to participate in the function in large numbers and celebrate the national festival with collective enthusiasm and gaiety.
Assistant Commissioner Varinder Sharma, SDM Una Vishwa Dev Mohan Chauhan and top officials of various departments were present in the meeting.
