District level coordination committee meeting held under PM Surya Ghar Yojana.

Una, August 7- A district level coordination committee meeting was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Una Mahendra Pal Gurjar for the successful implementation of Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme. In the meeting, the progress of the scheme was reviewed as well as the upcoming action plans were discussed in detail.

Una, August 7- A district level coordination committee meeting was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Una Mahendra Pal Gurjar for the successful implementation of Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme. In the meeting, the progress of the scheme was reviewed as well as the upcoming action plans were discussed in detail.
During the meeting, the ADC informed that a coordination committee was formed to promote the use of solar energy in the district. The committee selected 32 villages with a population of more than 2,000 and evaluated them on the basis of various parameters between January and July 2025. In this, Gram Panchayat Saloh Aparla (Census Code: 018721) of Haroli development block was found to be the best on the basis of possibilities of adopting solar energy, local participation and innovation.
He said that Saloh Aparla has been given priority for the installation of maximum solar panels and solar street lights on the roofs. This village has been a pioneer in adopting clean energy and now it will be developed as an ideal model village.
He informed that a solar energy project will be set up in Saloh Aparla at a cost of about Rs 1 crore. This project will not only provide clean energy to the village, but will also encourage environmental protection, energy savings and citizens' participation.

Mr Gurjar informed that the aim of the project includes providing free solar energy to domestic consumers, promoting solar energy self-sufficiency and promoting environmentally friendly technologies. He directed the concerned officials to implement all the works related to the scheme in a timely and transparent manner. Also, make the rural public aware about the benefits of this scheme so that more and more people can move towards solar energy.
On this occasion, members of the District Coordination Committee including Solar Energy Project Officer Sohan Singh were present.
