Patiala, March 3- Deputy Commissioner Patiala Dr. Preeti Yadav has given strict instructions to the National Highways Wing, Public Works Department to immediately take more steps to prevent accidents during the project of four-laning the road from Patiala to GT Road Sirhind, which includes putting up signboards and reflectors etc. about the speed limit and the ongoing work.
The Deputy Commissioner has also appealed to the pedestrians on this road to ensure compliance of road safety rules so that accidents do not happen and travel only after looking for bags filled with soil, tape strips and reflectors etc. on the side of the road, to indicate that the road has been dug up. She further advised that if possible, the speed of vehicles should also be kept low so that accidents do not happen.

Engineer Sharanpreet Singh was directed to install soil filled bags, tape strips, speed limit and ongoing work signboards and reflectors etc. at places where the road is down due to digging so that people's vehicles do not meet with accidents on the dug up road and no one gets injured and there is no loss of life or property.
Meanwhile, today taking prompt action on the orders of the Deputy Commissioner, Executive Engineer, National Highways, Public Works Department, Engineer Sharanpreet Singh along with his team and SDO Manjeet Singh visited the road and installed speed limit signboards by installing soil filled bags, reflectors and tape strips at places where recent accidents have occurred.
