Addressing the protest rally, leaders Kuldeep Singh Durka, Som Lal Thopia, Kulwant Singh Atwal, Karnail Singh Rahon, Ashok Kumar, Madan Lal, Manjit Singh, Dasonda Singh, Ravinder Rahon, Ashwani Kumar, Resham Lal, Kamaldev, Bikramjit Singh, Manjit Mandhali, Gurvinder Singh etc. said that the meetings given by Punjab Employees and Pensioners Joint Front after protesting several times for their demands have been postponed repeatedly.
Now again the meeting of July 29 has been postponed. In protest against this, the Punjab Employees and Pensioners Joint Front has called for a protest demonstration in tehsils/districts from August 5 to August 12 and burning effigies of the Chief Minister and the Finance Minister.
Mentioning the demands, the leaders said that the people of Punjab had elected the Aam Aadmi Party with a large majority in the hope of resolving their demands and issues. As soon as this government came to power, it forgot its promises, indulged in looting Punjab's resources and exploiting public sector institutions, and is turning its back on the demands of the employees and pensioners and is adopting the path of police torture.
The government of the so-called revolutionaries is running away from resolving all the issues like the pending report of the Pay Commission, the high grade pay given by the Fifth Pay Commission, the coefficient of 2.59, arrears, dearness allowance installments, rural allowance and all allowances including ACP, cashless health scheme etc. The leaders warned the Punjab government that if the issues of employees and pensioners are not resolved, the Aam Aadmi Party will be strongly opposed in the upcoming assembly elections. At this time, Jasvir Singh Moron, Sukh Ram, Sohan Singh, Somnath Takla, Dharam Pal, Ram Pal, Gurdial Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Didar Singh, Des Raj Bajjon, Vijay Kumar, Sambhu Narayan, Harmesh Lal, Ajit Ram, Satpal Bhatia, Swaran Singh, Jasvir Singh Manguwal, Hari Singh etc. were present.
