Mulampur Garibdas (Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, July 30, 2025): Punjab’s Finance and Planning Minister, S. Harpal Singh Cheema, today inaugurated the new branch of the Bank of Maharashtra in Mulampur Garibdas. On this occasion, he stated that public sector banks play a crucial role in boosting the state’s economy. 
He emphasized that banks should maximize the benefits of loan schemes under government-sponsored programs to improve the living standards of the common people, which would not only promote self-employment but also provide benefits and employment opportunities to many others associated with these initiatives.
He further noted that under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, there has been a significant increase in tax collection in the state, including GST and excise revenue, since the Punjab government came to power. He added that the additional revenue is being utilized for public welfare schemes to ensure maximum benefits for the people of the state.
The Zonal Head of Ludhiana, Mr. S.K. Trivedi, in his address, stated, “It is a matter of pride for us that we are starting our ninth branch in the district to provide better banking services to our customers in Mulampur. The Bank of Maharashtra has always strived to meet the needs of its customers and live up to their expectations. 
Our new branch is a significant step in this direction, enabling us to offer even better services to our customers.” He appealed to the public to connect with the bank and give it an opportunity to serve them further. He expressed hope that the new branch would prove to be an important banking partner for the people and contribute to achieving their financial goals.
The branch manager, Anu Saini, and other bank representatives were present on the occasion.
