Chandigarh, February 5, 2025- The Society of Biological Engineers (SBE) of Biotechnology Branch, UIET, Panjab University organised an event for sensitising and spreading awareness on World Cancer Day.
Distinguished speakers Dr. Siddhant Khare and Dr. Ishita Laroiya from the department of General Surgery, PGIMER, Chandigarh addressed the function. Speakers discussed about cancer risk factors, prevention, and treatment advances. Session was fully informative and interactive. Speakers encouraged and emphasised on the sensitisation and careful monitoring as well as early detection.
Earlier, the event was inaugurated by Director UIET Prof. Sanjeev Puri who motivated and encouraged the audience about the importance of holding and attending such awareness program in view of the rising incidence of Cancer throughout the globe including India.
The program Coordinator, Dr. Mary Chatterjee welcomed the august gathering and introduced the theme of the event. Panjab University Incubation Centre, In-Charge, Prof. Naveen Aggarwal was also present during the event.
With the huge participation of students, staffs of UIET; the event was successful to raise mass awareness and sensitization about cancer.
