Hoshiarpur- During a special conversation with Principal Dr. Parvinder Singh, MSc (Math) PhD, Daljit Ajnoha about the history of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Mahilpur, District Hoshiarpur, he told that Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Mahilpur was started due to the efforts of Brahmleen Sant Baba Hari Singh Kahar Puri and Late Principal Harbhajan Singh.
Its main objective was to provide good education to the children of the area without any greed or selfishness. Keeping this thought in mind, countless students have studied in this college and are working in important positions in different parts of the country and abroad.
Principal Dr. Parvinder Singh said that this college has always been a pioneer in the field of education. It is also called the nursery of football. There are students in this college in Mahilpur. Among them, Arjun award winners, coaches and many students are also serving in the police, CRPF, BSF, ITBP, Air Force and Army by playing football along with their studies.
He further said that the management still thinks that any student who is good in studies and for some reason cannot pay the fee or can pay less fee, he will be taught by the management at a lower fee and his studies will not be harmed. He said that the college has computer, laboratory technician, banking and other courses and various subjects from +2 to post graduation are taught.
For which highly educated teachers and professors are teaching and scholarships are also given to the bright students in the college and the college management provides many other facilities to the students which they need during their studies and an annual three-day youth fair is organized in the college and when the students of the college achieve success in any competition outside and bring glory to the name of the college, they are also honored by the management.
