SAS Nagar, July 04, 2025: Mrs. Anju Chander took over as President, Municipal Council Kharar today in the presence of Local Bodies Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh, Dr. Gurpreet Kaur (wife of Hon. Chief Minister Punjab) and MLA Kharar Anmol Gagan Mann.
Speaking on the occasion, Local Bodies Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh congratulated the newly appointed President of Municipal Council Mrs. Anju Chander. He also said that the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is committed to the best development of Punjab.
He said that MLA Kharar Anmol Gagan Mann got the project of Rs. 100 crore approved from the government for the development of Kharar and got the supply of canal water from Kajoli Water Works on the demand of the city residents.
He said that MLA Kharar has also upgraded the power infrastructure in Kharar city at a cost of Rs. 30 crore. MLA Anmol Gagan Mann while speaking said that the newly appointed chairperson Anju Sharma is honest, hardworking, unbiased and visionary and will discharge her responsibility as the chairperson of Nagar Council Kharar.
He said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is handing over the responsibility of every institution and organization to honest and hardworking people. When different organizations and institutions work with full honesty, then no one can stop Punjab from progressing by leaps and bounds.
He said that he is confident that Mrs. Anju Chander will also discharge her responsibility well. While talking about the development of the city, he said that earlier also all the works related to the development of the city are done on priority basis by Nagar Council Kharar. A supermarket will be built in the city, which will generate income for Kharar city, parks, multi-stadium, roads, excellent community center, bus stand etc. are being built in Kharar. She said that no stone will be left unturned to make Kharar city beautiful and the community center in the city will also be dedicated to the people soon. Addressing the media on this occasion, Mrs. Anju Chander said that she thanks the Chief Minister of Punjab Mr. Bhagwant Singh Mann, who has shown faith in her and given her this responsibility. She said that she will fulfill this responsibility with full dedication and commitment.
She said that she will make every possible effort to live up to the expectations of the people. No stone will be left unturned in the progress of Kharar. She said that she will work hard for the all-round development of the district. Apart from administrative officials, a large number of dignitaries were present on this occasion.
