So far hundreds of vehicles have collided with these dividers. The truck that crashed today, JK 08 C 1513, was going to Jammu and Kashmir. You can imagine what it must have been going through during the long journey.
Many people here have suffered huge financial losses. The surprising thing is that the Public Works Department, local administration, Municipal Council or local ruling leaders have never been seen working honestly in this direction. Forget solving the problem, they never even thought about it.
People belonging to this entire community themselves come through this road, their relatives come to them, responsible leaders may be waiting for a big accident or bad accidents are not accidents for them. According to social worker Rajinder Prasad, the main reason for accidents is that there is no light of any kind at the place where the dividers start.
There are no reflectors of any kind on the road. In other words, there is no need for dividers here, these dividers need to be removed. If any officer of the administration feels that dividers are very much needed here, then he should at least arrange for lights here so that loss of life and property of people can be avoided.
