
Mayor Jeeti Sindhu directs Public Health Department officials to clear blocked lanes
S.A.S. Nagar, June 19- Mayor of Municipal Corporation Mr. Amarjit Singh Jeeti Sindhu has directed the Public Health Department officials to clear the blocked lanes. As part of the preparations being made by the Municipal Corporation to ensure proper drainage of rainwater before the monsoon season and to protect the city from the adverse effects of rainwater, Mayor Jeeti Sindhu during an important meeting with the officials of Public Health Department said that the lanes and drains should be thoroughly cleaned before the rains, so that there is no waterlogging in any area.

The meeting was attended by Senior Deputy Mayor Amrik Singh Somal, Councilor Kamalpreet Singh Banni, Executive Engineer of Public Health Department Gurprakash Singh, SDO Ramandeep Singh and other officials of the Municipal Corporation.
Mayor Jeeti Sindhu said that every year certain areas, such as low-lying areas and old settlements, are affected by flooding of rainwater. This time the Municipal Corporation has already arranged for cleaning of NCS and additional pumps.
He informed that Mohali Municipal Corporation has prepared a new model to permanently solve the drainage problems of the city. The project is estimated to cost around Rs 200 crore, and for this the Municipal Corporation has also sought additional funds from the Punjab Government.
He stressed that the Municipal Corporation will try to ensure that no area in Mohali is affected by flooding of rainwater and the residents do not face any inconvenience.
