Chandigarh, August 25, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Governor Banwarilal Purohit have clashed once again and the Governor has written a letter threatening the Chief Minister that he is not responding to the questions raised by him, so he will will be forced to write a letter to the President for his unconstitutional actions. He said that I am forced to write that the constitutional system has failed in Punjab. In his letter to the Chief Minister, the Governor has written that before I write to the President to take action under Article 356 and against you under Article 124 due to the failure of the constitutional machinery in the state, please answer the questions I have asked. Give complete information. Otherwise I will have no choice but to take such action. The Governor has also reminded the Chief Minister of the Supreme Court judgment of February 28, 2023, in which the Supreme Court said that both the Chief Minister and the Governor are constitutional positions. The roles and responsibilities of both are detailed in the Constitution. The Governor has the right under Article 167 (b) to seek information from the Chief Minister in matters relating to state affairs and proposals for legislation.
