Bengaluru, June 10- The Karnataka High Court has set June 12 for the next hearing on the petition related to the stampede incident that took place at Chinnaswamy Stadium here on June 4. 11 people died in this stampede.

The court ordered Advocate General Shashi Kiran Shetty to file a reply in a sealed cover. During the hearing, Shetty said that he has not filed his reply yet. He said that a judicial committee has been constituted, which has been given one month to submit a report.
He also said that the police officers have been suspended in this case. Shetty, while requesting to file a reply in a sealed cover, said that the pending bail applications are being heard simultaneously and the statements given in the case are being used by the accused.
Acting Chief Justice V Kameshwar Rao and Justice CM Joshi heard the petition filed by him. A former member of the Legislative Council has requested to become a party in this application. Along with this, a lawyer said that he is also filing a public interest litigation regarding the stampede.
It is worth mentioning that the Karnataka High Court had taken suo motu cognizance of the stampede incident that took place in the stadium on June 5 and ordered the state government to file a status report.
