Mohali- The 163rd monthly community feast (bhandara) was organized at Mata-Pita Gaudham Mahatirth, located in village Khallaur on the Banur-Ambala road in Mohali district, where the world’s first Mata-Pita (Parents) Temple is under rapid construction. Hundreds of people participated in the event.
It is noteworthy that this is the world’s first temple where there will be no idol; instead, each individual will experience divinity in their own parents. The construction of the temple is progressing swiftly.
Following a sacred fire ritual (havan) and devotional discourse (satsang), the community feast was served, along with a special offering (Sawamani) for the sacred cows.
Speaking on the occasion, the temple’s founder, spiritual leader Gauchar Das Gyan Gyan Chand Walia, said that chanting the glory of one's parents will bring peace to the world.
Thinker and philosopher Gyan Chand Walia remarked that, after deep study of the Sanatan values and world peace, he realized that we have destroyed our very roots (the seed). Dazzled by the glitter of Western culture, we sowed a seed devoid of values, education, and humility.
As a result, the fruit of such a seed could only reflect that culture—but the outcome has proven to be even more harmful. This, he said, is why even in a Sanatan nation like India—where parents are revered as divine beings—many are now forced to spend their old age in elderly homes.
