
White Coat Ceremony held at D.B.R. Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences
SAS Nagar, November 14, 2024: Dr. BR Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences, SAS Nagar, organized a “White Coat Ceremony” for its fourth batch of MBBS students. The special guests were Dr. AK Attri (Director Principal, GMCH-32, Chandigarh), Chief Patron Dr. Bhagwant Singh (Chairman, AIIMS, Mohali) and Mr. Rahul Gupta, Additional Director, AIIMS, Mohali and Additional Secretary Medical Education and Research Punjab.

Today being Children’s Day, renowned Paediatrician Dr. Raj Kumar Gupta also attended; and announced the ‘Dr. RK Gupta Best Graduate Gold Medal Award’ for the MBBS student who has performed well in Paediatrics during the academic course by contributing an endowment fund of Rs. 3 lakhs.
In addition, the students who excelled in the field of Pathology will be awarded the scholarship ‘Datta-Upal Pathology Award’ presented by Dr Bhavneet Bharti, Director Principal, AIIMS, Mohali in honour of Sardar Avtar Singh Uppal and his beloved Guru. Dr BN Dutta, Retired Professor and Head, Pathology, PGIMER, Chandigarh contributed Rs. 3 lakhs.
Prabh Asra founder Smt. Rajinder Kaur Dhindsa was recognized for her selfless commitment to helping the poor and the community. Mr. CM Sharma was honored for donating his mother’s dead body to the Department of Anatomy. For their unwavering collaborative relationship with him, Dr Anupam Mahajan (Professor and Head, Orthopaedics), Dr Sobal Nigah (Assistant Professor, Anatomy), and Dr Karan Jindal (Assistant Professor, Orthopaedics) were awarded the Best Student Award.
Student Sish (2021 MBBS Batch 2021) shared words of inspiration and encouragement with the newly admitted students to boost their morale for medicine, humanity and the motherland.
