Delegation of various unions of Chandigarh meets Union Transport Minister;

Chandigarh, May 22- A delegation of various unions of the city, fighting for their pending demands under the banner of All Contractual Employees Union India (Regd.), UT Chandigarh, met Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari in Delhi and submitted a memorandum demanding job security and equal pay for equal work.

Chandigarh, May 22- A delegation of various unions of the city, fighting for their pending demands under the banner of All Contractual Employees Union India (Regd.), UT Chandigarh, met Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari in Delhi and submitted a memorandum demanding job security and equal pay for equal work.
On this occasion, the President of the Union Bippan Sher Singh apprised Mr. Gadkari about the problems related to job security of about 2,500 contract and 17,500 outsourcing employees working in the Chandigarh Administration and Municipal Corporation. Meanwhile, Vice President of Association of Assistant Professors (Contractual) Chander Jaswal demanded a concrete policy to regularize the services of Assistant Professors working since 2010.
The leaders demanded that in the absence of any central policy for contractual employees, All Contractual Employees Union Bharat raised the demand for job security till retirement on the lines of neighbouring states by forming Kaushal Rojgar Nigam on the lines of Haryana and bringing it under the administration and job security for outsourcing employees. Besides, Class Four Union raised the demand for equal pay for equal work.
On the occasion, Shri Nitin Gadkari assured the delegation of appropriate action on the issue of job security. Bipan Sher Singh, Chander Jaswal, Dr. Narinder, Anu Kumar, Jani Kumar, Gurpreet Singh from School Education, Higher Education and Technical Education sectors and Mohammad Yunus from Mission Bharat were present in the meeting.
