Una, May 20- Under the Wings Scale-up Project, a workshop was organized at the Regional Hospital Una on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Una Jatin Lal. Officers of various departments, health workers and other stakeholders associated with the project participated in this workshop. The objective of the workshop was to discuss the strategy of the project, review the progress so far and sensitize all the concerned parties at the regional level towards the objectives of the project.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said that the Wings Scale-up Project is an important initiative towards strengthening public health services and promoting innovation in Himachal Pradesh. He informed that under the project, emphasis is being laid on improving the standards related to maternal and child health in Una district.
In the first phase of the project, Amb block has been selected, where a joint survey has been completed by the Health and Family Welfare Department and the ICDS Department. He informed that the local ASHA workers and Anganwadi workers have been provided necessary training regarding this project.
For the effective implementation of the project, a strategy has been prepared by organizing meetings with the concerned stakeholders. Also, the availability of staff, equipment, nutritional supplements and necessary medicines has also been assessed. The process of preparing an action plan for the upcoming training sessions is going on. The Deputy Commissioner appealed to all the stakeholders to provide their full cooperation to make the Wings Scale Up project a success.
Along with this, the Deputy Commissioner informed that this project will be implemented in all the blocks, which will later be implemented in other districts of the state on the same lines and after that the state will prepare a national model.
During the workshop, Dr. Sharmila Majumdar, Director, Society for Applied Studies (SAS), New Delhi, shared information on the outline of the Wings Scale-Up project through a presentation. At the same time, Dr. Vidya Shankar, Senior Scientist, CSIR-IHBT, Palampur, gave information about the nutritional supplements being prepared for the project.
On this occasion, SDM Una Vishwa Mohan Dev Chauhan, SDM Haroli Vishal Sharma, SDM Gagret Somil Gautam, SDM Amb Sachin Sharma, CMO Dr. Sanjeev Verma, MS Sanjay Mankotia, all BDOs and block medical officers along with officers of various departments were present.
