SAS Nagar, May 19- Former Chairman of Kharar Market Committee Harkesh Chand Sharma Machhli Kalan has demanded from the officials of Punjab State Mandi Board that the repair work of the link road from village Sawara to Biro Majri should be completed soon.
Mr. Sharma said that despite the tender being passed in 2021 for the repair of this road, the work is incomplete even after more than four and a half years have passed. As a result, the road from Sawara to Pawaala village has started deteriorating again. He informed that due to rain, the gravel poured from Pawaala to Biro Majri has been washed away in the fields, and due to large potholes on the road, the passersby are facing a lot of trouble.
He said that due to the poor condition of the road, there is always a danger of accident, and most of the people have now started going via Gadholian village. He said that as per rules, the road is repaired after every seven years, but even after four and a half years of passing the tender, the repair work of this road has not been completed.
To resolve the issue, he met Mandi Board Engineer-in-Chief Jatinder Singh Bhanghu, who assured to complete the road repair work as soon as possible.
