Patiala, May 20- The unemployed, who are struggling for the recruitment of multi-purpose health workers in the Health Department, fed up with the rebuff of Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh, have announced to hold a protest in Patiala on Sunday 25 May.

State President of the Union Harvinder Singh Patiala and Vice President Balkar Singh said that the Aam Aadmi Party had promised to make special recruitments in the Health Department during the election promises. But in about 3 years, not a single advertisement has been given for a single post of Multi Purpose Health Worker Male in the Health Department.
While many diseases including dengue and chikungunya are taking precious lives in the state. He said that although the Health Minister has given assurances in dozens of meetings, he said that although it is learned that the estimated 270 posts of male personnel in the Health Department have been approved in the Punjab Cabinet meeting, but the advertisement has not been issued yet.
He further said that all the institutes conducting health worker courses in Punjab have stopped the courses after 2012. He said that the unemployed are ready for a do-or-die battle.
