Nawanshahr- Red Cross Integrated Drug Victims Rehabilitation Center Nawanshahr organized an anti-drug awareness camp under "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan" at Shri Guru Ravidas Gurudwara Sahib, Mahdipur Kalan. This camp was presided over by Mrs. Nisha Rani (Sarpanch).
On this occasion, S. Chaman Singh (Project Director) addressed the villagers and made the children aware of drug abuse and appealed that only those people who remain disciplined reach their destination.
If any member of the family is addicted to drugs, then he can be made aware of drugs and the harm caused by drugs like cancer due to smoking bidi, cigarette etc. can be told, so that the drug addict can also quit drugs. He said that only by being physically and mentally healthy, we can achieve our desired destination. Therefore, we can keep ourselves healthy only by staying away from drugs.
In today's time, people can be kept away from drugs only by making them aware about drugs. He also shared some things about identifying drug addicts and also explained in detail about the diseases caused by drug addiction. In the end, he said that many problems will come in life, but the solution to any problem should not be found in drugs.
Mrs. Kamaljit Kaur (Counselor) also shared detailed information about the treatment of patients in the center that any drug addict can get free treatment by staying in the center for a month as per his wish, because drug addiction cannot be given up by staying at home, so it is necessary to reach psychiatrists and de-addiction centers to give up addiction.
On this occasion, Mrs. Nisha Rani (Sarpanch) thanked the Red Cross team and assured that they will continue to organize anti-drug awareness camps in future as well.
