
A drug addict is not a student: Chaman Singh
Nawanshahr- Red Cross Integrated Rehabilitation Center for Drug Victims Nawanshahr organized an anti-drug awareness camp under the "Drug-Free India Campaign" at Master Malkit Singh Government Senior Secondary School, Roorkee Khas (Garhshankar). This camp was presided over by Mr. Jasvir Singh (Principal).

On this occasion, S. Chaman Singh (Project Director) while addressing the students of the school, made the children aware of drugs and appealed that those who live in discipline, those people reach their destination.
If any member in the family is addicted to drugs, then the children can also make them aware of drugs and tell them about the harm of drugs such as diseases like cancer due to smoking beedi, cigarettes, etc., due to which even a drug addict can give up drugs. He said that only if we are physically and mentally healthy can we achieve our desired goal. Therefore, we can keep ourselves healthy only by staying away from drugs. In today's time, people can be kept away from drugs only by making them aware of drugs.
He also shared some points about identifying drug addicts. And also explained in detail about the diseases caused by drugs. He said that today, he also shared detailed information about why students fall into the trap of drugs. Finally, he said that many problems will come in the lives of students, but they should share them with their parents or teachers. He appealed to the teachers to make the students aware of drugs along with school education so that the children can be kept away from drugs.
Mrs. Kamaljit Kaur (Counselor) also shared detailed information about the treatment of patients at the center that any drug addict can get free treatment by staying in the center for a month as per his wish, because addiction cannot be cured by staying at home, it is necessary to reach out to psychiatrists and drug rehabilitation centers to quit addiction.
On this occasion, Mr. Nirmal Singh (Retired Teacher) addressed the students of the school about the ill effects of drugs. He said that if the students face any problem, they should share it with their parents or teachers and focus only on studies and achieve their goal. On this occasion, Balvir Singh, Amandeep Singh, Dheeraj Kumar, Diljan Singh, school staff members Harsh Kumar, Jasvir Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Usha Devi, Naresh Kumari and students were present.
