Prevention is more important than treatment to prevent dengue ---- Dr. Raghbir Singh

Mahilpur, May 16- In order to prevent the breeding of mosquitoes and to make the general public aware of the damage caused by it, the Punjab government provides information about dengue every year and National Dengue Day is celebrated. In this regard, a block-level awareness seminar was organized today at Primary Health Center POSI under the chairmanship of Senior Medical Officer Dr. Raghbir Singh.

In this regard, a block-level awareness seminar was organized today at Primary Health Center POSI under the chairmanship of Senior Medical Officer Dr. Raghbir Singh.
On this occasion, Dr. Raghbir Singh said that the main purpose of this workshop is to get ready to deal with dengue. He said that to avoid dengue, it is most important to prevent the breeding of mosquitoes, because prevention is more important than treatment. 
He said that instead of throwing unwanted items on the roof, they should be destroyed or given to the junkyard. He said that wearing full-sleeved clothes during the day and using mosquito repellent creams etc. can also protect us from dengue.
 He said that dengue is a viral fever, which is caused by the bite of a mosquito called Aedes aegypti. The symptoms of which are severe headache and high fever, muscle and joint pain, pain behind the eyes, vomiting, bleeding from the nose, mouth and gums etc. In case of suspicion of dengue fever, one should immediately get free check-up and treatment from the government hospital. 
On this occasion, Dr. Harpuneet Kaur, Dr. Navaldeep Singh, Lab Technician Balwinder Singh, Renu Bala, ASHA workers, hospital staff and other persons were present.
