The police station incharge said that his team has so far identified more than 30 youth and sent them to de-addiction centers, where their treatment is being done completely free of cost. This initiative is not only proving helpful in getting the youth out of drug addiction, but is also motivating them to live a new and healthy life.
He said that as per the government instructions, the properties of people involved in drug trafficking are being investigated and many properties have been seized (sealed) so far. The investigation related to the property of a person is still ongoing, and legal action will be taken very soon.
Regarding the current situation, the police station in-charge said that law and order is under control in the area and there is no need for people to fear or panic. However, he also said that all citizens should remain alert and vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police immediately.
SHO Parvinderjit Pal Singh appealed to the youth and their families that if anyone is addicted to drugs or has information about drug traffickers, they should contact the police without any fear or hesitation. The police team is ready to provide all possible assistance.
