Repair work on the damaged section of Nayagaon's Nada-Khuda Lahora road in full swing.

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, September 4: The repair work on the Nada-Khuda Lahora road in Nayagaon, which was damaged due to the sudden high flow in the Patiala Ki Rao drain yesterday, continued at a fast pace for the second day today. Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Komal Mittal reached the spot in the afternoon and further accelerated the repair work and stayed at the spot for more than two hours to supervise the repair work.

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, September 4: The repair work on the Nada-Khuda Lahora road in Nayagaon, which was damaged due to the sudden high flow in the Patiala Ki Rao drain yesterday, continued at a fast pace for the second day today. Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Komal Mittal reached the spot in the afternoon and further accelerated the repair work and stayed at the spot for more than two hours to supervise the repair work.
She said that the road damaged by the water erosion will be made usable for the people as soon as possible. She said that various departments are working hard to make this road usable again through mutual coordination.
She said that today, the flow of water in this rainy drain was negligible, which has helped a lot in completing the work quickly. The Deputy Commissioner said that the Municipal Council, Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Drainage Department and Mandi Board are jointly undertaking the repair work of this road.
The Deputy Commissioner further said that the efforts being made since yesterday to slightly change the flow of water from this place have also been successful, in which the corner of the excess soil in front of this damaged section has also been leveled so that there is no obstruction in the flow.
Chief Engineer of Punjab Mandi Board G.S. Cheema, who reached the spot today, said that he has given some technical advice today for the strengthening of the road so that in future the problem of damage due to water erosion does not have to be faced again. He also remained at the spot for more than two hours.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) Anmol Singh Dhaliwal, who was present on the spot, said that as per the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner, efforts are being made to repair this section and make the road operational as soon as possible and he is hopeful that this road will become usable again in the next one or two days.
