Hoshiarpur- During the meeting held today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain, the civil defense preparedness in the district was reviewed. During this, the Deputy Commissioner gave necessary guidelines to the concerned officers and asked them to be fully alert during any emergency situation. During this, he said that detailed orders regarding civil defense have been issued and duties of various officers have been assigned and reports are being taken continuously from the Sub-Divisional Magistrates of all the sub-divisions of the district.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the situation in Hoshiarpur district is completely normal, yet general preparedness action is being taken. He said that the district administration is continuously coordinating with the Air Force and the Army. Sharing a special piece of information, he said that if anyone finds any suspicious or unknown object in any locality, village or city, then they should not go near it or try to tamper with it, but rather inform the nearest police station or civil administration, so that the object can be forensically examined and sent to the Army or Air Force for recovery. He assured the district residents that the situation in the district is completely normal and there is no need to panic in any way.
He said that the district administration has set up a 24-hour district-level control room, the number of which is 01882-220412. He said that the district residents can contact this control room for any kind of information.
Meanwhile, he appealed to the district residents to be completely alert against misleading rumors and ensure strict compliance with the advisory issued by the government from time to time in the public interest. He said that if any mischievous element is found spreading rumours, strict legal action will be taken against him.
On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Nicas Kumar, Assistant Commissioner (Under Training) Oishi Mandal, SDM Hoshiarpur Sanjeev Kumar, SDM Tanda Parampreet Singh, SP Navneet Kaur Gill, DSP Manpreet Shimar and Civil Defense officers were present.
