
PEC Alumnus Angad Ji Saggu Secures AIR 162 in UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024
Chandigarh: 08th May, 2025: Another proud moment for Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, as its recent alumnus Mr. Angad Ji Saggu has secured an distinguished All India Rank (AIR) of 162 in UPSC Civil Service Examination 2024.
Chandigarh: 08th May, 2025: Another proud moment for Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, as its recent alumnus Mr. Angad Ji Saggu has secured an distinguished All India Rank (AIR) of 162 in UPSC Civil Service Examination 2024.
A graduate of the Mechanical Engineering batch of 2018–2022, Angad Ji Saggu demonstrated academic excellence and all-round development throughout his four-year journey at PEC. In addition to his core engineering curriculum, he pursued his interest in solid-state physics under the mentorship of Prof. Sanjeev Kumar, which helped in his Physics Optional for CSE. His innovative approach was further evident in his contribution to a design patent for an electric motorbike chassis, developed under the guidance of Prof. Sandeep Salodkar and PEC alumnus Mr. Ankit Bhutani.
He was also an active participant in various co-curricular activities. He co-headed the Discipline Committee, played a key role in organizing a campus roadshow, and was a proud member of student bodies including SAE, ASME, and the PEB Bhangra team, reflecting a well-balanced personality with leadership, technical, and cultural engagement.
He expressed immense joy and relief at clearing one of the country’s most challenging examinations in his second attempt. He acknowledged the vital role played by his mentors, professors, and family in supporting his journey. His remarkable achievement has brought immense pride to the entire PEC fraternity, serving as a source of inspiration for current and future students of the institute.
