He said that all possible efforts are being made to make the public aware about the Lok Adalat. Under this, meetings are being held from time to time with the officers of various departments and guidelines are being issued for maximum publicity, so that maximum people can be made aware.
Secretary District Legal Services Authority said that the objective of the Lok Adalat is that people can get maximum benefits by presenting their cases in the Lok Adalat with a settlement in civil, criminal and pre-litigation matters. Apart from this, people are being made aware about the benefits of registering cases in Lok Adalat by conducting seminars in different villages, cities, schools and colleges every day.
This will give people maximum information about legal services, which will enable them to avail the assistance provided by the government. This will save both their time and money and will also save them from having to visit the courts repeatedly. For the publicity of Lok Adalat, PLV is making the public aware by putting up banners in public places.
Along with this, maximum publicity is also being given about the benefits of permanent Lok Adalat (Public Utility Services).
Under Section 22-(1) of the Legal Services Authority Act, 1987, matters relating to public utility services such as transport, postal, telegraph, telephone, hospital, insurance, banking, education, old age pension, Shagun Yojana etc. are disposed of in the minimum possible time in the Permanent Lok Adalats so that the people are saved from unnecessary inconvenience.
