Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, May 6: The District Health Department is fully prepared for the prevention of dengue fever. While the health workers are conducting door-to-door container surveys, the work of making people aware is also going on simultaneously.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain said that after holding meetings with the health supervisors and health workers of the district, instructions are being given that surprise checking should be done in all the districts, especially in the areas where dengue larvae are likely to be produced.
The Civil Surgeon appealed to the people and said that the Health Department is running a campaign called "Every Friday, Dengue War", for which the cooperation of the people is very important. He said that water should not be allowed to stagnate anywhere because the mosquito responsible for dengue fever breeds in stagnant and clean water.
He clarified that although the mosquito carrying dengue fever can breed at any time, the dengue season is generally considered to be from July to November. Giving information about the common symptoms of dengue, District Epidemiologist Dr. Anamika Soni said that severe headache and high fever, pain in muscles and joints, pain behind the eye, bleeding from the nose, mouth and gums when the condition worsens, nausea and vomiting etc. are common symptoms of dengue fever.
In such cases, one should immediately go to a government hospital and get examined by a doctor. He said that the tests and treatment of dengue fever are completely free in government hospitals.
He said that empty and dry the trays of coolers and refrigerators at least once a week. Every Friday should be celebrated as a dry day. Do not let water stagnate in flower pots and broken vessels etc. around the houses. Keep water-filled vessels and tanks well covered. The mosquito that spreads dengue fever bites during the day, so wear clothes that cover the entire body. In case of high fever, immediately go to the nearest hospital, dispensary etc. and get checked.
