SAS Nagar, May 1 - President of Punjabi Virsa Cultural Society Registered and former councilor of Mohali, Mr. Satvir Singh Dhanoa, has said that Haryana is on the verge of being humiliated by Punjab on the pretext of need for drinking water. In a statement issued here, he said that Haryana and Rajasthan have been taking more than their due share of water from the Bhakra Beas Management Board for a long time.
He said that Punjab does not even have water for its own needs, but conspiratorial people have been making plans to somehow ease Punjab, which is not in the interest of Punjab and the entire country. He said that in fact Haryana does not have any problem of water.
Describing the government's stand on the water issue as correct, Dhanoa said that it is the need of the hour for Punjabi intellectuals to work together for Punjabi language, culture, employment for Punjabis, etc., without any political differences. He also told the government that most of the bureaucracy of Punjab should be Punjabi.
He said that welfare schemes for the benefit of any state can only be implemented by the bureaucracy of that region, but according to the latest calculations, 80 percent of the top bureaucracy in Punjab is from outside states and the presence of a large number of outside bureaucracy is responsible for the employment and business problems of Punjabis and the lack of control over drugs, etc.
