DGP orders to complete Drug-Free Punjab campaign by May 31.

Chandigarh, April 27 – Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav has given a deadline of completing the ‘War on Drugs’ campaign launched by the state government to make the state drug-free by May 31. He said that the concerned SSP and Police Commissioner in Punjab will be responsible for any drug smuggling after May 31. The DGP has directed each SSP to make a concrete plan to complete the Drug-Free Punjab campaign so that drugs can be eradicated from Punjab.

Aam Aadmi Party Punjab spokesperson Neil Garg said that the effective results of the ‘War on Drugs’ campaign launched by the Punjab government are coming out. So far, 4659 cases have been registered under this campaign and 7414 people have been arrested. Apart from this, the buildings of 67 drug smugglers have been demolished and 67 encounters have been conducted.
