A free legal aid seminar was organized by the District Legal Services Authority in Thinda village

Mahilpur - As per the guidelines of Punjab State Legal Services Authority and under the guidance of Hon'ble District and Sessions Judge Dilbag Singh Johal, Secretary District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Raj Pal Rawal organized a seminar regarding free legal aid in village Thinda, Kot Fatuhi, Garhshankar. On this occasion, Secretary District Legal Services Authority Rajpal Rawal informed the villagers about free legal services.

On this occasion, Secretary District Legal Services Authority Rajpal Rawal informed the villagers about free legal services.

He said that the Supreme Court, Punjab and Haryana Legal Services Committee and District Legal Services Authority provide free legal aid to eligible persons of various categories. Persons whose annual income is less than Rs 3 lakh, Scheduled Caste, women, refugees, children, elderly, disabled or mentally ill persons can get assistance under this scheme on the basis of eligibility. Apart from this, everyone can also take legal advice. He informed that information about various schemes of the District Social Welfare Department was also given by the District Legal Services Authority.

These include Old Age Pension Scheme, Financial Assistance Scheme for Widows and Dependent Women, Financial Assistance Scheme for Children and Disabled Persons and National Social Assistance Program Schemes. Apart from this, saplings were also planted in government primary schools under the leadership of Secretary District Legal Services Authority. On this occasion, Raj Pal Rawal said that trees are a gift of nature, which are not only the source of life but also play an important role in environmental protection. He urged everyone to plant trees in and around their homes.
