Nawanshahr- The monthly meeting of Senior Citizens Association Nawanshahr was held in Deputy Commissioner Meeting Hall Nawanshahr under the patronage of Chairman Dr. JD Verma and under the chairmanship of Professor SK Baruta. At the beginning of the meeting, President SK Baruta congratulated all the members on Baisakhi and the birth anniversary of Pawan Putra Hanuman ji. General Secretary SK Puri gave information about the activities of the meeting held last month.
Like every time, this time also the members whose birthday or wedding anniversary falls in this month were congratulated and wished by the Board of Presidents by presenting flowers. Member Gurcharan Singh Basiyala gave detailed information about the history of Baisakhi festival. Member Lalit Kumar Ohri expressed his views about the tour program of this month of the association and everyone agreed to visit Sri Anandpur Sahib and Mata Naina Devi Temple in Himachal Pradesh, the date of which will be decided later.
Member Ohri paid tribute to famous Bollywood actor Manoj Kumar on the 4th of this month and gave information about his life and the memorable films made by him. The House paid tribute to late Manoj Kumar by observing two minutes silence. Ashok Kumar Sharma, Cashier of the Association gave detailed information about the accounts of the last financial year 2024-25.
Member Sukhdev Kumar Sharma was given a handsome mega prize through lucky draw for attending all the meetings held from 24th April to 25th March. In the end, Chairman Professor SK Broota thanked all the members for attending the meeting. A large number of members were present on the occasion.
