
Deputy Commissioner inaugurates projects worth Rs 70 lakh under Krishi Sinchai Yojana 2
Una, March 26- Deputy Commissioner Una Jatin Lal on Wednesday inaugurated various development projects under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana 2 in Jhambar, Dangoli, Lamlaihari, Madanpur Panchayats of Una Block. The Deputy Commissioner said that these projects constructed at a cost of about Rs 70 lakh include paper plate industry, concrete drain, check dam, lift irrigation projects. All these projects have been built under the watershed development component 'Yatra'.
Una, March 26- Deputy Commissioner Una Jatin Lal on Wednesday inaugurated various development projects under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana 2 in Jhambar, Dangoli, Lamlaihari, Madanpur Panchayats of Una Block. The Deputy Commissioner said that these projects constructed at a cost of about Rs 70 lakh include paper plate industry, concrete drain, check dam, lift irrigation projects. All these projects have been built under the watershed development component 'Yatra'.
The Deputy Commissioner said that these projects will promote agriculture, irrigation and local industries, which will directly benefit the farmers and entrepreneurs of the area. He said that special attention is being given to water conservation and management under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana, so that the problem of water crisis can be reduced. Check dams have been constructed to promote water conservation, which will lead to rainwater harvesting and farmers will get adequate water for irrigation.
Under the Lift Irrigation Water Scheme, arrangements have been made to deliver water to the fields using modern techniques, which will solve the problem of irrigation. Paper plate industry is being encouraged to increase employment opportunities at the local level. This will promote self-employment and production of environment-friendly products will be possible. Apart from this, concrete drains have been constructed for better drainage system, which will reduce the problem of waterlogging.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officials to ensure smooth implementation of all the schemes so that people can get full benefit of them. During this, the Deputy Commissioner also planted a sapling and urged the people to plant as many trees as possible and protect them for environmental protection.
BDO Una KL Verma, District Panchayat Officer Shravan Kumar, Panchayat representatives of the concerned Panchayats and local people were present in the program.
