Giving information in this regard, DMF leaders Hansraj Garhshankar Ajay Kumar, Satpal Kaler, Satnam Singh said that the Punjab government has not yet implemented the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission and the remaining second part of the Sixth Pay Commission is lying in cold storage, while the central government has established the Eighth Pay Commission.
DTF leaders Gurpreet Singh and Jarnail Singh, Amarjit Bangar, Gurmel Singh, Mandeep Singh, Inderjit Kaur, Urmala Devi, Usha, Jaswinder Kaur, Monika, Usha Rani, Harjit Kaur, Surjit Kaur said that the government has run away from its promise of doubling the honorarium of mid-day meal workers, Asha workers and facilitators and Anganwadi workers and helpers.
The Punjab government has run away from its promise of restoring the old pension and is now colluding with the central government. Instead of making casual employees permanent, they have been cheated by giving a nominal increase in their salary. No permanent employee has been given any benefit. The rest of the allowances including rural allowance and border area allowance have been frozen. Instead of paying the arrears of 5 years and 6 months of the Pay Commission in lump sum, a hollow policy of paying it in 42 and 36 months is being adopted.
It is being de-linked by giving 13% less DA from the Centre and on the other hand everything is being given to IAS officers, the arrears of DA installments of employees and pensioners are pending, 125% DA earned on 01.01.2016 is not being considered as the basis while fixing salary and pension. All allowances including rural allowance being given to the employees are being stopped in the name of revision, employees are being exploited by giving basic salary for three years in the name of probation period, Central Pay Scale has been forcibly imposed on employees recruited after 17 July 2020 and in the name of development, a contribution of Rs 200 is being collected from employees and now even pensioners.
