Chandigarh, March 20 - Former Punjab Health Minister and Congress leader Balbir Singh Sidhu has condemned the arrest of farmers by the Punjab Police and their sending to Patiala Jail and said that the AAP government and the central government together want to suppress the voice of farmers. He said that the treatment meted out to farmers who are fighting for their legitimate rights clearly reveals the dictatorship being practiced by the AAP government.
He said that the Mann-led AAP government, which had guaranteed MSP to farmers on 22 crops before coming to power, has completely failed to fulfill its promises. He said that it is very shameful that after the meeting with the central government, the farmer leaders were arrested and bulldozers were used on their temporary places at the Shambhu border.
He said that the arrests of farmers are constitutionally illegal and the AAP government, which is following in the footsteps of the BJP government by driving bulldozers in various places, has proven that Narendra Modi and Bhagwant Mann are one and the same and they want to suppress the voice of our people and farmers by joining hands.
