Giving information in this regard, DSP City 2 Harsimran Singh Bal said that the team led by Navdeep Sharma, head of police station Phase 8, had received a secret information that a youth who lives in village Kumbha was smuggling heroin. He said that the police arrested a person named Akashdeep Singh with 11 grams of heroin during the blockade.
He said that accused Akashdeep Singh told during the initial interrogation that he buys heroin from Ferozepur at the rate of Rs 2,000 per gram and sells it to his regular customers in Mohali at the rate of Rs 4,500 per gram.
DSP Bal said that the accused has been living in a PG in Mohali for a few days and at this time he was living in a PG in village Kumbha with his wife. During the interrogation of Akashdeep Singh, it was also revealed that a case of drug smuggling has already been registered against him in Mohali and in Ferozepur.
He said that the police presented Akashdeep Singh in the court and the court has sent him on a 2-day police remand. He said that during the police remand, it will be found out from whom Akashdeep Singh used to buy heroin from Ferozepur.
