MLA Jimpa said that administrative approval has been received for this state-of-the-art hospital to be built at a cost of Rs 16.50 crore and PWD has invited tenders for it. He directed the officials to complete the construction work within the stipulated time so that the people of the district can get modern health services.
He said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is regularly reviewing the processes related to the medical college and hospital to be built here and just a few days ago he had held a meeting with senior officials and directed to expedite this work. He said that with the completion of this project, people will get the benefit of health services through state-of-the-art medical machinery and all types of specialist doctors will treat the patients.
The MLA said that the administrative process related to the construction work of Shaheed Udham Singh State Institute of Medical Sciences has also been completed. The institute, to be built on an area of ??21.41 acres at a cost of Rs 418.30 crore, will have a 300-bed medical college, where seats have been allotted for 150 medical students.
He directed the officials to issue tenders for this project soon, so that the construction work can be completed on time and the people of the area can get high-level medical facilities. Brahm Shankar Jimpa said that this hospital and medical college would prove to be a boon for the Kandi area.
He said that the Punjab government is making unprecedented efforts in the country in the field of health and education in the state, which the people are getting full benefit of.
