Noorpur Bedi- A signboard wall on the roadside collapsed in nearby village Chabrewal, killing one brother and seriously injuring the other. He has been admitted to Civil Hospital Rupnagar. Both the brothers who fell under the signboard wall have been identified as brothers. The deceased has been identified as Om Prakash (14) and the injured is his younger brother Rajvir (13), who is undergoing treatment at Civil Hospital Rupnagar, whose left leg is broken. This information was given by ASI Pradeep Sharma of Nurpur Bedi police station.
The ASI said that the mother of the deceased child, Gurbaksh Kaur, wife of Pritam Singh of village Karura, told the police in her statements that at around 1 pm, a signboard wall collapsed near Verka Dairy in village Chabrewal, where there was a large crowd of people. The wall fell on his two children who were playing in a deep field and both the children were seriously injured. Both were taken to the government hospital in Singhpur for treatment where doctors declared one dead and the other was sent to Rupnagar in critical condition.
