SSP Gulneet Khurana imposed a complete ban on the use of speakers on tractors and trucks during Hola-Mohalla

Rupnagar- Hola-Mohalla is being celebrated in Sri Kiratpur Sahib and Sri Anandpur Sahib from 10 March to 15 March 2025, for which a complete ban has been imposed on the use of speakers on tractors and trucks to protect the devotees from any untoward incident.

Giving information in this regard, SSP Rupnagar Gulneet Singh Khurana said that the police administration of all the districts of the state has already been informed that the chief officers and traffic in-charges of the police stations under their respective districts / units should be instructed through the representatives of truck unions and panchayats to stop any double-decker truck / vehicle, large speakers on tractor trolleys, pressure horns on motorcycles and motorcyclists without silencers etc. from coming to Anandpur Sahib and Kiratpur Sahib during Hola-Mohalla.
He said that along with this, action should also be taken against those who violate traffic rules and laws and the speakers causing noise pollution should be removed from the vehicles on the spot and sent ahead. Gulneet Khurana said that to prevent the inconvenience caused to the Sangat coming from the country and abroad due to the sound of speakers during the Hola-Mohalla fair, it has been decided that no double-decker truck / vehicle fitted with speakers will be allowed to enter Rupnagar district during the fair.
He said that in the year 2023, a Sikh youth may die due to tractor loudspeaker during Hola-Mohalla, for which he appealed to all the Sangat to follow the instructions issued by the police administration and traffic rules so that any untoward incident can be prevented at any level.
