Training program on latest techniques of sesame cultivation by Krishi Vigyan Kendra

Hoshiarpur - A training program on the latest techniques of sesame cultivation was organized at village Bachhohi by the district level extension institution of Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bahowal, Hoshiarpur for the successful cultivation of sesame seeds and its expansion through agricultural exhibitions.

Hoshiarpur - A training program on the latest techniques of sesame cultivation was organized at village Bachhohi by the district level extension institution of Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bahowal, Hoshiarpur for the successful cultivation of sesame seeds and its expansion through agricultural exhibitions.
Addressing the farmers and farmer wives during the training, Associate Director (Training), Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bahowal, Dr. Maninder Singh Bowns, enlightened about the purpose of sesame crop exhibitions. He shed light in detail on the method of successful cultivation of advanced variety-Punjab Til No. 2, use of fertilizers, pests and diseases under the sesame crop exhibition. He said that this variety has abundant branches and bears more fruits. This variety matures in about 90 days and has an average yield of 2.8 quintals per acre.
During the camp, Krishi Vigyan Kendra experts Associate Professor (Animal Science) Dr. Parminder Singh, Assistant Professor (Plant Protection) Dr. Prabhjot Kaur, and Assistant Professor (Vegetable Science) Dr. Karamveer Singh Garcha discussed seasonal maintenance of animals and metals for animals. The use of sawdust, animal chaat brick and by-pass fat, holistic pest management of fruits and vegetables and production techniques of summer vegetables and nutritious home garden were shared in detail.
On this occasion, the farmers were provided sesame seed exhibits and agricultural literature and samples were also taken for soil testing for the exhibition.
