Una, April 22- District Magistrate Una Jatin Lal has issued orders keeping in view the incidents of forest fires during the summer season and the public safety hazards arising from it. The DC has issued these orders under Section 3(1) of the Himachal Pradesh Village and Small Town Patrol Act, 1964.
According to the order, capable adult male residents of all the villages falling in Una district have been directed to cooperate with the Forest Department to deal with incidents of forest fires and play an active role in monitoring and guarding for the safety of public properties/facilities.
The Deputy Commissioner said that its objective is to ensure community participation to protect forests from fire so that natural resources and public interests can be effectively protected. These orders will remain effective till July 15, 2025.
