Garhshankar 28 February- On the call of the United Kisan Morcha, a meeting of farmers was held in village Sikandarpur by Kirti Kisan Union regarding the preparations for the Kisan Morcha being held in Chandigarh from March 5. In which all the farmers were appealed to join the protest.
Addressing the meeting, the state vice-president of the organization Harmesh Singh Dhesi and district secretary Kulwinder Singh Chahal said that agriculture is the jurisdiction of the states. But the state governments have turned away from the farmers by putting everything on the center. Now when the central government is constantly refusing to lift the crops of the farmers and refusing to give support price for other crops, then the Punjab government should declare the support price of some crops itself.
Like Basmati, potato, peas, cabbage, maize, moong so that the water crisis and agricultural crisis of Punjab can be reduced to some extent. Block Finance Secretary Sandeep Singh Mintu, Amrik Singh, Kartar Singh and other farmers were present in today's meeting.
