Jalandhar 26 February- In the context of the all-round attack on the people of the tribal area, after a serious discussion on the topic 'In the light of Gadri heritage: Corporate and fascist attack on democratic rights', a protest was held from Desh Bhagat Yadgar Hall to Press Club, raising a strong voice to stop the genocide, destruction, oppression in the tribal area and handing over the forest, water, land to domestic and foreign corporate houses.
The protesters raised strong slogans and demanded that the genocide in the tribal area be stopped immediately, paramilitary forces be removed from the forests and the atrocities being committed on the tribals under Operation Kegar be stopped. In this protest, the Desh Bhagat Yadgar Committee demanded to stop the unjust war.
The discussion, chaired by Ajmer Singh, President of Desh Bhagat Yadgar Committee, General Secretary Prithipal Singh Marimegha, Finance Secretary Seetal Singh Sangha and Convener of Cultural Wing Amolak Singh, began with paying tribute to the martyrs of Babbar Akali movement of 1926-27, Shaheed Chandra Shekhar Azad, Shaheed Jatinder Nath Sanyal, Shaheed Sohan Lal Pathak, Shaheed Rur Singh Chuhadchak, Sufi Amba Prasad, Saka Nankana Sahib and Jaito Da Morcha in the freedom struggle of the month of February.

Desh Bhagat Yadgar Committee members Mangat Ram Pasla, Sukhwinder Singh Sekhon and Dr. Parminder Singh mainly participated in the discussion. The speakers said that the need of the hour is to raise a broad, long-term, firm, unwavering and united mass struggle against the attacks being carried out by the imperialist corporate attackers and their indigenous allies who are plundering the country.
They said that the BJP government is imposing a naked white war on the people by destroying the glorious legacy of those who made immense sacrifices in the freedom struggle. They said that the revolutionaries who took the side of the tribals are being gunned down by fabricating stories of 'encounter with Naxalites'. The speakers mentioned with facts that the violation of even the basic democratic human rights achieved by risking their lives, putting intellectuals, writers, artists, journalists, democratic activists in jail and the open declaration of wiping out the Naxalites by 31 March 2026 shows that the Hindutva fascist agenda adopted by the BJP government in the service of the corporate world will make even more widespread and sharp attacks against the people in the future.
The discussion concluded that the public is the creator of history and nobody can defeat the public, but it is important that all public welfare forces unite and build a fort of people's power and come out in the field for mass struggle against such corporate and fascist attacks.
