
Tribute paid to Comrade Satpal Lath

One such leader Comrade Satpal Lath, who left us forever on 9 February, was paid tribute in Mahilpur near his village Gondpur. Social, organizational, political leaders, Comrade Lath's war comrades, employees, pensioners and residents of the area participated with moist eyes in this tribute.
National Secretary of RMPI, Capt. Mangat Ram Pasla, who arrived specially in this function, while addressing the gathering said that Comrade Lath was a true leader who loved the struggles of the people from the bottom of his heart and was a sensitive person who considered the pain and suffering of the people as his own. He said that this is a true tribute to the firm steps taken by Comrade Lath to end corruption in the society and build a society of the dreams of Baba Nanak, Baba Sahib and Shaheed Bhagat Singh.
Famous trade union leader and State Secretary of the party Capt. Harkanwal Singh said that while Comrade Lath raised the flag of struggle against the anti-employee policies of the government and the arbitrariness of bureaucracy during his government service, after his retirement he dedicated his entire life to make the living standards of the downtrodden respectable.
Addressing this tribute ceremony, CPI (M) leader Capt. Darshan Singh Mattoo said that due to the sweet and eloquent nature of Comrade Satpal Lath, even the common people used to listen to him very attentively and because of explaining everything in a logical manner, he used to involve the common people in the mass struggles. His cooperation in uniting the entire labour movement is a true tribute to him.
Speaking on this occasion, P.S.S.F. District President of Pharmacy Officers Association Makhan Singh Wahidpuri, District President of Pharmacy Officers Association Inderjit Virdi, District President of Pensioners Welfare Association Kulwaran Singh, Welfare Committee leader Ramjidas Chauhan, Malkit Singh Bahowal, farmer leader Talwinder Singh Heer said that the untimely demise of comrade Lath has caused a great loss to the family and society.
He said that while serving as a pharmacist in the Health Department, from the very first day of duty, the desire to be a part of the ongoing struggle against the difficulties faced by the employees and the anti-employee policies of the government had awakened in his mind. Along with family and social responsibilities, comrade Lath also took the responsibility of organizing the employees and taking them on the path of struggle for the solution of their demands as a priority.
Even after retirement, he remained a part of the ongoing struggle for the solution of the problems of the pensioner class and continued to play a leading role. RMPI District President Gyan Singh Gupta thanked all the colleagues and said that the only benefit of attending Satyapal Lath's tribute ceremony is that we follow in his footsteps and consider public welfare as the ultimate religion. While thanking the family, he also said that if his daughter and wife, his sons Rajiv Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar and brother Ashok Lath had not given full support, then Satyapal Lath would have remained an ordinary person.
In the end, Satyapal Gupta said that Satyapal Lath will always remain immortal for his works. On this occasion, apart from the above mentioned leaders, Makhan Singh Langeri, Manjit Singh Saini, Praduman Gautam, Iqbal Singh Jassowal, Dr. Sukhdev Singh Dhillon, Saroop Chandbirampur, Paramjit Katib, Ram Kumar, Tarsem Singh Haryana, Sukhdev Jaja, Amarjit Kumar, Balraj Singh Saini, Sham Sunder Kapoor, Kamaljit Kaur, Harbhajan Singh Ajanoha, Manjit Bajwa, Swarn Singh Mukerian, Dharminder Singh, Balwant Ram, Gopal Das Malhotra, Raghveer Singh, Deepak Thakur, Gurpreet Singh Makkimpur, Shingara Ram Bhajjal, Gyani Avtar Singh, Rajiv Sharma and other leaders were also present.
